Taking a cue from the timeless simplicity of downtown New York, Chrissie Miller’s company SOPHOMORE caught the public’s eye with a single T-shirt design in 2003. She initially planned to make shirts exclusively for her friends, but the overnight success of her design and the attention SOPHOMORE received from celebrities, retailers, and the press inspired Miller to think big. Joining forces with designer Madeleine von Froomer, who most recently worked for Proenza Schouler, SOPHOMORE has expanded its offerings from a single T-shirt to a full collection of contemporary sportswear. In a one dimensional world of basics, SOPHOMORE brings a fashion twist, soft washed fabrics, perfect fits and a New York vibe that will make the line a clothing staple for years to come. When the sun goes down, Chrissie Miller, can be found bringing her forward thinking aesthetic and sense of style to the DJ booth where the New York socialite spins for high-end events and parties from coast to coast and around the world. Her clients include Grandlife hotels, Kanon Vodka, Forever 21, Opening Ceremony, Intermix, Milk Studios, Museum of Art & Design, and more.
